FAQ

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIRST VISIT?

On your initial consultation your physiotherapist will complete a thorough assessment of your nerves, muscles, joints, movements and any special tests related to your condition. In order to find out what will be the most effective treatment for you, a series of treatment testing will occur to ensure you get the best possible outcomes. Once the most effective treatment is determined for your individual needs, your physio will then develop a treatment plan taking into account your lifestyle, activities and general health to get you better as quickly as possible.

HOW LONG IS THE CONSULTATION?

At Evolve Physio we offer both 30min and 60min consultation.  The most popular choice is a 30min consultation and while it is sufficient time to complete a movement assessment and start with some treatment a 60min consultation allows your therapist to be more thorough and allows for a better action plan to be made from the start of treatment.  Before booking you may want to check how much your private health fund will give you back for each physiotherapy session.

If calling your health fund as what they give back for an initial consultation (code 500) and a standard consultation (code 505)

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Please wear clothes you can move in.  (eg. shorts/tights/loose pants and a singlet/t-shirt).  If possible please avoid wearing tight clothes, jeans and/or skirts, wearing these clothes may restrict our ability to complete the movement assessment.

We have a toilet and change area at the clinic if you need to change before your session starts.

DO YOU HAVE A HICAPS MACHINE?

Yes we have a Hicaps machine onsite and are able to process your health fund rebate on the spot.  We will swipe your health fund at the time of payment to claim your rebate immediately so you only have to pay the gap.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Please see our page on Fees and Services. Depending on the severity of the problem on average we will require 2-6 hours to find the cause of the problem and get you to a stage where you can manage on your own. Each individual is different so time may vary.

DOES MEDICARE COVER MY TREATMENT?

Our physiotherapists are registered with Medicare. If you have a chronic medical condition with complex needs and if your doctor has coordinated a Team Care Arrangement as part of the GP Management Plan, then Medicare will fund $52.95 towards your physiotherapy visits. You will be required to pay the gap of $67.05 for each physiotherapy treatment you have.  Your doctor can refer you for up to 5 sessions in a calendar year.

DO YOU HAVE PARKING?

Yes.  There are 7 parking spots out front to the clinic as well as on-street parking if required.

DO YOU DO MASSAGE?

Evolve Physio uses muscle release through deep tissue work and trigger point therapy as part of the manual treatment however other techniques such as joint mobilisations, exercise and movement practice may also be used at the discretion of your therapist’s assessment.

DO YOU TAKE WORKCOVER?

Yes. We accept Workcover patients, however we still require payment in full up front ($120 for half an hour or $220 for a full hour). If your claim is approved by Workcover, you can submit your receipt to them for partial reimbursement; the Workcover reimbursement rate is $82 for your first visit and $73 for subsequent visits. You will need a doctor’s referral to physiotherapy if you claiming Workcover.

ARE YOU A PREFERRED PROVIDER?

No. The Australian Physiotherapy Association does not endorse the preferred provider scheme, therefore we do not participate in it.
